Hi everyone! I wanted to give you my first update! Over the past two weeks God has provided and I am now 60% fundraised! No words can describe how grateful I am for all of the support and generosity my friends and family have shown during this time.

We are now 24 days away from launch and the excitement and nerves are definitely starting to hit. However, in the midst of the chaos of training, fundraising, and every other little task on my list, I’ve been able to find a sense of peace. I’ve been taking these last few weeks here to prioritize not only spending time with family and friends, but connecting and appreciating my home on the farm. When I find myself caught up in all of the planning and details, I’ve found that nothing helps more than going outside.

Summer on the farm is something I wish everyone could experience. I always hear how beautiful Europe is and all of the sights I’ll see while traveling, but in these past weeks I’ve been trying to fully appreciate the beauty of my own home. God’s creation may be very apparent when you see a mountain or waterfall abroad, but it can be just as apparent in the park by your house or the sunrise from your front porch. Being able to sit in silence by the pond or walk through the fields by the woods has brought me to love my home in a whole new way.

During this time I’ve been considering what defines “home” for me. As cheesy as it sounds,  home for me is as simple as a sunset. Home is a field of wildflowers. Home is a pasture of sheep or a yard of chickens. It’s a dirt path with flowers lining each side. It’s the birds singing and dragonflies flying over the pond. The majority of these things I’m confident I can find even when I’m away from the farm. Reminders of what is waiting for me when I’m far away and missing this place.

Leaving becomes more bittersweet by the day, but I know that God will remain with me and will show me bits of home every step of the way.

Thank you again for your generosity and I can’t wait to continue to share my thoughts and experiences with you!
